This easy Parmesan Garlic Linguine is the perfect creamy, cheesy, and delightful pasta dinner for a quick weeknight meal! To make this, all you need are just simple ingredients. Have this Parmesan Garlic Linguine ready on your dinner table in less than twenty-five minutes.
I love serving this Parmesan Garlic Linguine with grilled or roast chicken, shrimp, and scallops. But this is amazing to add to any protein and veggies. This pasta dish is already a stand-alone dish and is already perfect without any side dishes.
Ingredients
4-5 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
2 tbsp olive oil
8 oz. cream cheese, softened and cut into smaller cubes
1 c. pasta water
1 lb. linguine
Coarse or Flaky Salt
Freshly Ground Pepper
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, plus more for topping
2-3 tbsp heavy cream
How to make Parmesan Garlic Linguine
Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the pasta until al dente. Drain when done. Place the hot pan back on the stovetop on medium heat.
Step 2: In the pan, add the olive oil and garlic. Saute for about 3 to 4 minutes or until the garlic begins to brown and aromatic.
Step 3: Next, stir in the cream cheese until heated and melted. This takes about 3 to 4 minutes. Add the Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, and pasta water once the cream cheese has melted and stir well until incorporated. Lastly, toss in the hot pasta.
Step 5: Serve the pasta on servings plates and garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, flaky or coarse sea salt, and freshly ground pepper. Enjoy!
Notes:
For this recipe, you can use milk or omit this altogether. Although, I find that cream cheese melts easier with it.
The pasta sauce helps to thin out the sauce and evenly coat the pasta. You can use the hottest water from that tap with 1 tsp of flour whisked in if you forget to ladle some pasta water out.
