I have tried plenty of Mac and Cheese recipes, but this one stands out among the rest! Oh, man, you need this recipe in your life. Give it a try and I promise you that it is worth all your time and effort. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 pound macaroni
8 oz. Velveeta cheese, cubed
1⁄2 c Monterey jack cheese, shredded
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
1⁄2 c muenster cheese, shredded
8 tbsp butter
1⁄2 c sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1⁄4 tsp seasoning salt
1⁄8 tsp fresh ground pepper
2 c half-and-half
1⁄2 c mild cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions:
1. Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
2. Melt butter in a 2 1/2-quart baking dish.
3. Put a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
4. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and the macaroni. Cook for about 7 minutes or until firm to bite. Drain and put them back into the pot.
5. Heat a saucepan over medium.
6. Add 8 tablespoons of butter and let them melt.
7. Pour the melted butter over the macaroni and toss until well coated.
8. Add all the shredded cheeses into a container, then stir until well mixed.
9. Add about 1 1/2 cups of mixed shredded cheeses into the macaroni.
10. Add the eggs, cubed cheese, half & half, pepper, and salt. Toss everything until well mixed.
11. Move the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread it evenly. I use a spatula to spread it out.
12. Sprinkle the rest of the shredded cheeses on top as well as the rest of the butter.
13. Put it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until the top turns golden brown or the cheese has melted completely.
14. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
15. Serve warm and enjoy!
