This is a classic recipe with a rich and creamy flavor. Another one of my favorites from Paula Deen’s. This Banana Pudding is comfort food at its finest!
For this recipe, all you need are a few simple ingredients. I used Chessmen cookies instead of the usual Nilla Wafers. But both are great! This banana pudding has a combination of creamy and sweet flavors with just the right portion of banana flavor. Plus, this recipe is incredibly easy and quick to make. The kids love this banana pudding and this has been one of the most requested at home! If you happen to have any leftovers (which I doubt), you can keep them in the fridge for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months. But note that the texture of the banana pudding will slightly change.
Ingredients
1 box instant French vanilla pudding mix
1 container of frozen whipped topping, thawed, or an equal amount of sweetened whipped cream
1 package cream cheese, softened
2 c. milk
1 can sweeten condensed milk
2 bags chessmen cookies
6-8 bananas, sliced
How to make Paula Deen’s Not Yo’ Mama’s Banana Pudding
Step 1: With 1 bag of cookies, line the bottom of a baking dish and top with a layer of bananas.
Step 2: In a bowl, place the milk and pudding mix. Using a handheld electric mixer, whisk the milk and pudding mix.
Step 3: In a different bowl, mix the cream cheese and condensed milk until smooth. Into the cream cheese mixture, fold in the whipped topping.
Step 4: To the pudding mixture, add the cream cheese mixture and mix well until blended.
Step 5: Over the cookies and bananas, pour the mixture. Then, cover it with the rest of the cookies.
Step 6: Place the banana pudding in the fridge until ready to serve.
