INGREDIENTS
1 c. brown sugar
30-40 saltine crackers
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. (2 sticks) unsalted butter
How to make Praline Christmas Bark
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Using nonstick spray or butter, lightly grease a 12 x 17-inch jelly roll pan.
Step 2: Into the prepared jelly roll pan, spread the Graham crackers or saltine crackers in an even layer.
Step 3: Mix the butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat and cook until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved, stirring often. Bring everything to a boil and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Then, decrease the heat to a simmer and continue to cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 4: Take the pan off the heat, then whisk in the vanilla extract and salt.
Step 5: On top of the Graham crackers or saltines, pour the caramel and evenly spread it. Over the Graham crackers or saltines, sprinkle the chopped pecans. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 7 to 9 minutes or until bubbly.
Step 6: Take the pan out of the oven and let the bark cool for about 5 minutes.
Step 7: On top of the hot toffee, sprinkle the chocolate chips. Allow this to sit for about 2 minutes. Then, melt and spread into an even layer.
Step 8: Allow the bark to cool before breaking into pieces. Then, keep the bark in an airtight container and store it at room temperature or freeze it.
