I love everything with salted caramel! And this Salted caramel Kentucky butter cake is my newest obsession! This decadent cake is incredibly easy to make. All you need are just a few simple ingredients. This easy recipe guarantees the best buttery, moist homemade cake with an impressive caramel butter sauce.
This cake is rich and addictive! The caramel butter sauce soaks right in the cake. This cake is also very elegant and a beautiful cake to present on any special occasion.
Ingredients
4 large eggs
3 c./13 1/2 oz. flour (all-purpose)
2 c. sugar (granulated)
1 tsp baking powder
1 c. buttermilk or fermented milk
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 c. butter (room temperature)
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp of salt
Sauce:
1/3 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp vanilla
3 tbsp of water
How to make Salted caramel Kentucky butter cake
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 325 degrees F.
Step 2: Ready a 12-cup Bundt pan or 10-inch tube pan. Generously greased, flour, and set aside.
Step 3: Beat the flour, 2 c. sugar, salt, baking powder, club soda, buttermilk, 1 c. butter, 2 tsp vanilla, and eggs in a large bowl on low speed until moist. Adjust the speed of the mixer to medium and continue beating for another 3 minutes. Into the prepared cake pan, spoon the batter, evenly spreading it.
Step 4: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 55 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
Step 5: Whisk 3/4 c. sugar, 1/3 c. butter, 3 tbsp water, and 2 tsp vanilla in a small saucepan over low heat. Cook while stirring constantly until the butter has melted. DO NOT BOIL.
Step 6: Transfer the cake to a wire rack. Pierce the cake using a fork or skewer while still in the pan, then pour the hot butter sauce over it.
