In less than an hour, you will surely have the best dish to serve for lunch or dinner! I always make sure that I have this Shrimp Bisque on the table every time because my loved ones could not get enough of it! Try this recipe now and I promise you that it will not disappoint you at all. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 pounds shrimp chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
½ stick butter
2 tablespoons garlic minced or paste (about 2 cloves if minced)
2 celery stalks finely chopped
2 c half & half
2 green onions finely chopped
2 c tomato sauce
3 tablespoons flour
1 c white wine
½ c Parmesan
64 ounces chicken broth
Candied bacon pieces (optional for topping)
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Place a deep soup pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
2. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and allow it to become hot.
3. Add the garlic and celery stalks, then sauté until aromatic.
4. Add the shrimp and cook until pink.
5. Add the green onions and sauté until soft.
6. Add 1/2 stick of butter and allow it to melt.
7. Add 3 tablespoons of flour, then stir and cook for about 5 minutes. Make sure to stir from time to time.
8. Add 1 cup of wine and stir until well blended. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the pot to get the brown bits.
9. Add 2 cups of tomato sauce, then stir until well blended. Simmer for a few minutes until the texture becomes thick.
10. Add the chicken broth, then stir until well blended. Simmer for a few minutes.
11. Add half & half, then stir and cook for a minute.
12. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until well blended.
13. Simmer the soup for a few minutes. Sprinkle salt and pepper to season.
14. Serve hot and enjoy!
