Crispy, sticky, and packed with tasty honey lemon flavor! Serve this delicious crispy honey, lemon chicken with rice for a filling meal that your family will ask for over and over again!
1/2 c. canola oil
1 tbsp ginger, minced
1 lb chicken thighs, cut into 1” chunks
1/3 c. cornstarch
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 c. honey
zest one large lemon
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 c. water
How to make Crispy Honey Lemon Chicken
Step 1: Place the chicken thighs and cornstarch in a large bowl or ziplock bag. Toss to coat well and set aside.
Step 2: Into a bowl, place the sauce ingredients and mix well until blended. Set aside.
Step 3: Into a large pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken to the pan once the oil is hot and cook until crispy and golden. Set the chicken aside when done and discard all the oil, saving 1 tbsp.
Step 4: Into the now-empty pan, add the garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Saute for about 30 seconds over low heat until aromatic, stirring constantly to prevent the garlic and red pepper flakes from getting burned quickly.
Step 5: Return the chicken to the pan and toss it well.
Step 6: Stir the sauce, then pour it over the chicken. Stir well and continue to cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute until the sauce has thickened.
Step 7: Remove from the heat when done and serve the crispy honey, lemon chicken immediately with rice garnished with some chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh lemon zest. Enjoy!
