Ingredients
1 pound ground meat
1 head of cabbage
1 medium diced onion
3 cloves garlic
1 c. uncooked rice
2 eggs
1 jar tomato sauce
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon paprika
How to make Slow Cooker Cabbage Rolls
Step 1: Cut off about 1/4-inch of the bottom of the cabbage head. In boiling water, place the whole head and boil for about 2 minutes. As the leaves soften, peel them off.
Step 2: In the boiling water, place the rest of the head back and repeat the process until you have about 8 large cabbage leaves. Alternatively, you can just freeze the cabbage and skip boiling it.
Step 3: Place the ground beef, ground pork, uncooked rice, 1/4 c. tomato sauce, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and onion in a large bowl. Mix well until just combined. Fold in the egg.
Step 4: In a different bowl, mix the tomato sauce, paprika, and Worcestershire sauce.
Step 5: In the center of one cabbage leaf, place 1/4 c. of the meat mixture. Then, roll the leaf up like a burrito.
Step 6: Pour the sauce into a slow cooker, enough to cover the bottom.
Step 7: In the slow cooker, place the cabbage rolls in two layers, seam side down. Make sure not to overcrowd the slow cooker.
Step 8: Whisk the sauce ingredients and pour them on top of the rolls.
Step 9: Cover and set to cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.
