I surprised my in-laws with this Southern Pecan Praline Poke Cake and they loved it! This cake is my newest favorite. It is super easy to make, quick, and delightful! This is an amazing cake mix recipe that will seriously blow everyone away!
Rich, incredibly satisfying, and the perfect dessert for everyone! I suggest reserving some of the sauce glazed to pour over individual servings. I promise it makes a whole lot of difference!
This cake is always a huge hit! A must on potlucks, picnics, or any occasion. You can even throw this together in advance and store it in the fridge for a couple of days.
INGREDIENTS
Cake:
¾ c. vegetable or coconut oil
15 ounces tub coconut pecan frosting
1 c. water
15.25 ounces box of butter pecan cake mix
½ c. roasted pecans, roasted and chopped
4 large eggs
Cake Topping:
2 tbsp unsalted butter
½ c. pecans roasted and chopped
1 14-ounce can sweeten condensed milk
HOW TO MAKE SOUTHERN PECAN PRALINE POKE CAKE
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Using a nonstick baking spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, place the cake mix, coconut frosting, eggs, oil, and water. Mix well using a handheld or stand mixer until well blended. Then, fold in the pecans.
Step 3: Into the prepared baking pan, pour the batter. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes or until the top of the cake is golden brown and the cake pulls away from the sides.
Step 4: Remove from the oven when done and set the cake aside on a wire cooling rack.
Pecan Praline Topping:
Step 5: In a small saucepan, whisk the butter and sweetened condensed milk until melted. Then, add the pecans and mix again.
Step 6: Pour the topping on the cooled cake.
Step 7: Slice and serve. Enjoy!
