Spaghetti & Meatballs, anyone? I woke up today having a massive craving for this dish. I immediately went to the kitchen and started prepping! This recipe is easy to prepare. All you need are these simple ingredients and easy steps. In just one hour, you will surely have the perfect dinner!
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1 large Egg
1 pound spaghetti
1 pound of ground beef
1 (28 ounces) can of crushed tomatoes
1/3 cup bread crumbs
Freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan, plus more for serving
Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 bay leaf
Directions:
Place a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
Add the pasta and a bit of salt, then cook for a few minutes until firm to bite. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Add egg, bread crumbs, beef, red pepper flakes, parsley, garlic, Parmesan cheese, and 1 tsp salt into a large mixing bowl. Stir everything until well incorporated. Form about 16 meatballs out of the mixture.
Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Put the meatballs into the pot, then cook for 10 minutes or until they turn brown. Move onto a clean plate.
In the same pot, add the onion and sauté for a few minutes until translucent.
Add bay leaf, crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Stir and simmer for a few minutes.
Put the meatballs back into the pot, then toss until coated with the sauce. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the texture becomes thick.
Serve the meatballs over the cooked pasta and sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top. Enjoy!
