If you love sausage balls, you’ll love these spicy chicken cheeseballs more! These have been a constant at home, and the kids can’t keep their hands off these bad boys! So what makes these chicken cheeseballs so special? It’s all in the hot sauce! I use a special hot sauce, my favorite, but you can substitute it with Sriracha. Add more if you want a little more kick!
I love to serve these spicy chicken cheeseballs with starch and a vegetable for dinner. They pair well with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese as well as with green beans, corn, or peas on the side. These are also a huge hit at parties! I always make a double or triple batch because these fly out super fast!
INGREDIENTS
1 lb ground chicken
3 c. all purpose baking mix – Bisquick or Arrowhead Mills brands have both been tested
2 tbsp Tapatio Salsa Picante hot sauce
½ c. milk
4 c. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
½ tsp oregano
dash or salt and pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
HOW TO MAKE SPICY CHICKEN CHEESEBALLS
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet. Set aside.
Step 2: In a large bowl, place all the ingredients. Mix well by hand or using a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment.
Step 3: Into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter), shape the mixture.
Step 4: On the prepared baking sheet, arrange the balls. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature of the cheeseballs reaches 165 degrees.
NOTE:
You can use two large sheet pans if desired. I was able to fit mine in a single large sheet pan, but the balls were touching, and it was okay with me.
