How to make Taco Pasta Casserole
Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the pasta. Drain when done and set aside. Or you can use a Dutch oven to make this a one-pot recipe.
Step 2: Cook the meat in a Dutch oven or cast-iron skillet until browned. Then, drain any excess grease.
Step 3: To the drained meat, add the cooked pasta (if not using a Dutch oven or cast iron skillet). Then, top with the meat and sprinkle with the seasoning packet followed by the salsa.
Step 4: Stir and top with shredded cheese. Place in the oven and bake for about 18 to 22 minutes at 400 degrees until the cheese has melted and the sauce is bubbly.
Step 5: Serve the casserole with your favorite toppings. Enjoy right away!
Notes:
You can use milk in place of water if you prefer a creamier sauce. If desired, you can also stir in sour cream.
Use less pasta for more sauce or simply add another jar of salsa.
