1/2 c. milk
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

pinch salt and black pepper
How to make Tater Tot Casserole
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. Then, grease a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.
Step 2: To a skillet, add the butter. Allow the butter to melt over medium heat. Then, add the diced onions and cook until golden brown. Add the ground beef and continue to cook until cooked through. Drain any excess grease. Transfer the meat mixture to a large bowl.
Step 3: To the bowl with the meat mixture, add the salt, pepper, garlic salt, sour cream, cream of chicken soup, shredded cheddar cheese, and milk. Mix well.
Step 4: Into the prepared casserole dish, pour the ground beef mixture, spreading the mixture to the edges. On top, place the tater tots.
Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 to 50 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown.
Notes:
In the last five minutes of baking, turn the oven to broil to get extra crispy tater tots.
In an airtight container, store any leftovers. Alternatively, you can tent the dish with plastic wrap and keep it in the fridge.
