This chili also freezes beautifully and reheat excellently. I suggest freezing the chili in single-sized portions as they make the perfect lunch. Or you can keep them in freezer bags for an easy and quick weeknight dinner! To reheat, make sure to defrost it in the fridge overnight and warm it in a saucepan or microwave.

Ingredients
1 onion, diced
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 jalapeno, seeded and finely diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp cumin
1 green bell pepper, seeded and diced
14 ½ oz. crushed tomatoes, canned
1 ½ c. beef broth
1 c. beer
19 oz. kidney beans, canned, drained & rinsed
14 ½ oz. diced tomatoes with juice
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 ½ tbsp chili powder, divided (or to taste)
salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp brown sugar optional
How to make The Best Chili
Step 1: Mix the ground beef with 1 ½ tbsp chili powder.
Step 2: Cook the ground beef, onion, jalapeno, and garlic in a large pot until the meat is browned. Then, drain any excess grease.
Step 3: To the pot, add the rest of the ingredients. Bring everything to a boil. Once boiling, decrease the heat and simmer for about 45 to 60 minutes, uncovered, until the chili has reached your preferred thickness.
Step 4: Serve the chili top with cheddar cheese, green onions, cilantro, or your favorite topping. Enjoy!
Notes:
You can substitute beer with extra broth.
In this recipe, you can use any ground meat.
Sour cream, red or green onion, cheese, jalapenos, cilantro, avocado & lime wedges, and tortilla chips are great optional toppings.
