This delicious creamed spinach is one of the best side dishes. One of my top favorites for years! A low-carb, incredibly creamy, extra thick, steakhouse-style creamed spinach. Seriously amazing and a must-try! Easily and quickly make this best-creamed spinach tonight and surprise your family with the perfect side dish.
2 tbsp butter
6 large cloves garlic, minced
3 (10-ounce) bags of frozen chopped spinach
1 medium yellow onion, diced
4 ounces of cream cheese
1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
1 c. heavy cream
salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
HOW TO MAKE THE BEST CREAMED SPINACH
Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the spinach in the microwave. Then, using a cheesecloth, tea towel, or in a colander, transfer the spinach and remove the excess water. Set aside.
Step 2: Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the onion and saute until translucent.
Step 3: Next, add the garlic and continue to cook for another 30 seconds. Then, add the cream cheese. Cook further while stirring until melted. Add the heavy cream and cook for additional 2 minutes.
Step 4: Into the skillet, add the mozzarella along with Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well until blended.
Step 5: Into the cream sauce, fold in the spinach, and cook for another minute.
Step 6: serve the creamed spinach right away. In an airtight container, you can store any leftovers and keep them in the fridge for up to 1 week. Reheat the leftovers before serving. This creamed spinach is also freezer-friendly.
