Take that simple bread to the next level with this recipe! I am so excited to share this recipe with you today! This French Toast is simply the best. Top it with butter, maple syrup, sugar, or fruit. You are so in for a treat. Serve it with scrambled eggs and a nice hot coffee, and you have yourself a breakfast of a lifetime. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
A pinch of salt
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
8 ounces (8 slices) of Brioche bread
dash of cinnamon, optional
4 large Eggs
3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
Directions:
1. Slice the bread into pieces, then set them aside.
2. Add heavy whipping cream, eggs, salt, sugar, and vanilla extract into a large mixing bowl. Whisk until well blended.
3. Place a large pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
4. Add a few tbsp of canola oil and allow it to become hot.
5. Add each slice of bread into the bowl with the egg mixture, then soak each well.
6. Add the bread slices into the pan, then cook each side for about 3 to 4 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
7. Transfer the toasted bread onto a clean plate. Repeat the process with the rest of the bread slices.
8. Serve right away with the toppings of your choice. Enjoy!
Notes:
This egg mixture can batter about 10 to 12 bread slices.
Make sure to use high-quality bread for this recipe for the best result.
I use heavy whipping cream because it gives a nice texture to the bread.
Dairy-free milk will give less flavor.
