Yum Yum sauce is a sweet and slightly tangy sauce. My husband is obsessed with this sauce. Our favorite Japanese steakhouse serves this Yum Yum sauce drizzled over grilled chicken, veggies, rice, and noodles. This homemade recipe of the popular Yum Yum sauce captures the flavors of that same Yum Yum sauce served in our favorite Japanese steakhouse. This version also deserved a big hand!
I read all about this Yum Y7um sauce. All because of my obsession with this sauce! I found that this is a Japanese-American sauce also known as shrimp sauce, white sauce, and hibachi sauce. Every Japanese steakhouse has this sauce. It is amazing to drizzle over grilled chicken, fried rice, vegetables, and noodles. Also great to serve as a dip for sushi, shrimp, and potstickers. This Yum Yum sauce is a must! if you have not tried this yet, you are already missing out!
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp onion powder
Hot sauce, to taste, optional
1/2 tsp paprika
How to make Yum Yum Sauce
Step 1: Place all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix well until smooth. To taste, you can add some hot sauce if desired.
Step 2: Add 1 tbsp of water at a time to thin out the sauce until you reached your preferred consistency.
Step 3: Tent the bowl and place it in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Step 4: Serve and enjoy!
