Chocolatey and rich with the perfect flavor of fresh bananas. If you are a fan of banana bread and, of course, chocolate, this double chocolate banana bread is for you!
This bread is seriously the best chocolate banana bread I’ve made! It’s oozing with chocolate without being overpowering that you can still taste the banana. Plus, there are extra chocolate chips sprinkled on top! This bread is always a winner! We love serving this for breakfast, as a snack, and even dessert.
INGREDIENTS
1 large egg
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 c. sour cream
1/2 c. cocoa powder
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
3 medium bananas, mashed – about 1 c.
1 c. milk chocolate chips
1/2 tsp salt
HOW TO MAKE DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. Using a non-stick spray, grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Step 2: Into a mixing bowl, add the butter and sugars. Mix until well blended.
Step 3: Add in the egg, vanilla, banana, and sour cream. Beat well until incorporated.
Step 4: Next, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir well until just mixed.
Step 5: Into the prepared loaf pan, pour the batter and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Into the batter, gently press the chocolate chips.
Step 6:Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Step 7: Remove from the oven when done and allow the bread to cool fully.
Step 8: Slice and serve. Enjoy!
NOTE:
I made this recipe in a ceramic loaf pan. Baking time will vary if using a glass or metal pan. I suggest keeping an eye on the bread and checking using a tester before taking the bread out of the oven.
